Top 5 Reasons To Try Scuba Diving

Los Angeles, CA – October 31, 2013 –You have made it to our website for a reason. You probably wouldn't be checking out a diving website unless you were interested in trying scuba diving. Wherever you are right now, a smart move would be to think a little bit more about saying sayanara to the world above the water's surface and take a turn diving under it.

Why is this an adventure worth your effort? Read on for the top five reasons to try Scuba Diving.

5. Getting to sing "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid with some level of authority: Is it really better down where it's wetter? You will know after taking a spin underneath the surface. The song is incredibly well-known and catchy, so it is a perfect way to casually mention that you have actually seen the newt play the flute, the carp play the harp ... and you know the rest. Your first step into scuba diving will be our Discover Scuba class, which includes an orientation and about half an hour in our heated pool.

4. Health benefits: On a more serious note, scuba diving is an amazing workout, targeting specific muscle groups in the glutes, legs, core and back in a dense environment, says Men's Fitness. The kicking and gliding you will do in the water strengthens specific muscle groups without the usual strain that comes from gym workouts and weight machines. It is a low-impact sport and will save your knees and other joints from future pain. Also, the calm environment of scuba diving will give you the opportunity to relax your mind and forget about the stresses of life above land.

3. Seeing underwater animals and plants in their natural habitat: Perhaps you have heard of lobster diving? You can't hunt for lobsters on land. How about seeing dolphins, sea turtles, coral, kelp forests and fish of every color imaginable? The only place to see these up close and personal is under the water. Southern California boasts many species of underwater animals that you will have trouble finding anywhere else. Once your Discover Scuba class is finished, you will be able to move onto getting Open Water certified (which can be completed in as little as two weekends) and into the ocean.

2. Getting to travel to new places to have the best dive experiences: Southern California is full of incredible places to dive. Including San Diego, Malibu, Catalina and the Channel Islands, the diversity you will find in southern California makes it one of the top ten dive destinations in the world. Past the confines of California, the options are endless. You can join one of Malibu Diver's premier dive trips to places like Fiji, Belize, the Galapagos Islands and Roatan, just to name a few. Plus, once you are Open Water certified, you can use that certification to dive almost anywhere you choose to go.
