Crown prince Frederik loses wedding ring while diving in Florida
The Danish Royal Court

Official photo of the Danish Crown Prince
Danish crown prince Frederik, heir to the Danish throne, loses his invaluable wedding ring while diving off Florida.
The crown prince was diving off Key West in January when he suddenly
noticed that the ring had slipped off his finger. The ring was
specially designed and made out of the very first gold coming out of
Greenland which is part of the Danish Kingdom.
Dive instructor Steve Tropp (on loan from Malibu Divers), who accompanied
the crown prince on his dive, explains to the Danish weekly Se &
Hør that a team of divers spent the following weeks searching for the
ring but without success so far.
There is a big reef out there and Crown Prince Frederik didn't know
exactly where he lost it. I did not notice the ring before he lost it but
it seemed to be rather big and expensive ring, says Steve Tropp. It is
like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Steve Tropp, whose main profession is being an attorney in
California, has his own fun theory on what became of the ring. Half jokingly, he said, "We have a
lot of barracudas out here and they fancy shiny objects, so I think it
is quite likely that the ring ended up in the belly of a fish. Perhaps
it will end up on a dinner table one day." Frederik is said to have offered a 'reward' of a trip to Copenhagen and
Fredensborg for the diver who finds it. Who will find it? Our bets are on Steve!
