Here's our 2008 top ten list of scuba diving gear that makes diving even better!

1. DRYSUITS - fit, comfort and style are now truly available; DUI has added a marvelous invention of ZipSeals and ZipGloves.  It's very cool (or should I say warm and dry?), easy to install and use.  We predict half of all new divers will dive in a dry suit by the end of 2010.  If you're not scuba diving our spectacular southern California waters because of the cold, then here's the answer!
2. 3442 PSI TANKS - in all manner of size and capacity from 66-131 cu. ft. and buoyancy (full) of -8.7 to -11.7 lbs. The more negatively buoyant the tank, the less lead. You got to love having to carry less lead and all the air (or nitrox) you need in a more streamlined fashion.

3. WIRELESS COMPUTERS -any time you have fewer hoses to secure, better displays and more reliable and accurate information that's truly a key benefit to keep you safer. Automatic safety stop count down, remaining air time, integrated electronic compass and dive maps are in the latest computers, too!

4. SV1 SNORKELS - it's hard to imagine that the 'ole snorkel could get much better but it has!  Atomic has taken the lead with a patent pending design that makes it leaps ahead.  For all you snorkel haters, there's also a high quality pocket snorkel available for when you really need one - you can easily keep it in your BCD pocket.                                                                 
5. WETSUITS - Warmth, fit and comfort for us diehards who still like to dive wet can be had with innovations from Pinnacle, who now combine Merino wool and elastiprene with sizes to fit most everyone from 3'8" to 6'7" off-the-shelf.  Wow or baaa! 
   
6. TECHNICAL BCD's - Apeks models are made with stainless steel back plates with enough lift for double tanks.  An extremely minimalist but versatile type of BCD that facilitates more options to configure your stage tanks and ancillary equipment to your dive plan.
7. DIGITAL CAMERAS - Offering major improvements for sharper and more colorful pictures on land AND underwater with over 6 megapixel quality.  Ease of use with button positioning, a large 2.5" LCD, full rubber armoring, and ergonomic button designs is combined with the long-life lithium-ion rechargeable battery for divers with multiple dives.
8. SPLIT FINS & SPRING STRAPS -split fins popularity and variety have exploded across manufacturers. Also, spring fin straps eliminate the potential of breakage or loss of your existing plastic clips on your fins.  The heavy-duty rubber spring covers come complete with a convenient pull loop for simple and easy removal before you climb the boat ladder.
9. MASKS - the DataMask, heads-up display inside you mask eliminates your wrist mount computer for the combined price of them sold separately.  Another innovation is the true color high grade glass masks from The OceanWays True Color Mask (below) allows you to obtain a "true view" of the underwater world with a specially designed glass tint that brings out the true colors underwater by eliminating the silver tones and adding back the yellow tones.       
10. YOUTH & SMALLER SIZES - masks, fins, wetsuits, you name it - finally, more manufacturers' are providing a wider range of styles and fit for most everyone to participate (other than men's medium, large, XL and XXL).
