Discover Local Diving Programs (Partial Day/Night)

Enjoy the kelp forest, colorful Garibaldi, moray eels, bat rays, halibut and other marine life unique to California.

Certified divers looking to enjoy some of the best waters in the world can participate in Discover Local Diving (DLD) under the guidance of Malibu Divers. The Malibu Divers staff will lead all DLD dives. National BSA policy requires an in-water skills review for all divers prior to participation. Our Pro's are on hand to insure safety and maximum enjoyment of your dive. A minimum of two day dives and one night dive will be scheduled each week (NOTE: weather, gear and personnel allowing). Night divers must make a day dive first. Tanks and soft weight are provided on all dives. Divers are asked NOT to bring their own tanks and weights. All additional gear is available.

Discover Local Diving includes 1st Dive Evaluation & Tour.  You can add: Additional Daytime Dive(s), Night Dive(s), Boat Dive(s)

Discover Local Diving begins with an “in-water” evaluation of your diving skills followed by a guided dive. This evaluation is our way of confirming that you are ready and safe to dive. Please keep in mind, that it is neither a training session, nor a SCUBA Tune-up for someone who has not been diving in a couple of years. If you or your Malibu Diver Pro feel you are not ready to dive, you will instead have to begin in our Scuba BSA (Discover Scuba Diving) program, which will cost an additional $25Afterwards, you can arrange to participate in additional guided scuba dives as mentioned previously.

NOTE: Please for your safety and enjoyment, if it has been awhile since you have been diving or you want to feel more confident and comfortable, a SCUBA Tune-up is available by contacting us prior to your arrival at Camp and arrange for this session to be completed while you are at Camp. Afterwards, you can arrange to participate in additional guided scuba dives as mentioned previously.

After your first dive, if you would like to participate in additional guided dives, they are $50 for a day dive, $95 for a boat dive and $65 for a night dive; you can arrange for a time with our staff while you are at camp.

We also have Partial Day Scuba Specialty Dive & non Dive Certification Programs such as Night, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Photography, Navigation, etc.

All programs are limited, and will be filled on a “first come, first served” basis. Note:

1. Age requirements are 12 years old for scuba.

2. Reservations for Discover Local Diving are highly encourage before arrival to help us plan your dives.
