Deer Creek Beach
Ventura County Beach
Considered a Los Angeles County beach, it straddles both regions, it is nested between (3.3 miles west) Leo Carillo State Park entrance and (3 miles east) Point Mugu State Park, this beautiful beach sits quietly along side PCH. It's 33 miles west of Santa Monica and 1.7 mile north of the Ventura and Los Angeles County Line. Though it's far away from LA, it is still a very popular beach because if offers so much to different user groups. You'll find divers, surfers, fisherman, hikers and campers here. There are not many planned activities taking place here since the area has nearby amenities at Sycamore State Beach and Leo Carillo, but you will find other small divers, freedivers and snorkeling groups. During the summer time and good weather weekends, it will be heavy usage because it is easily accessible to the general public who want to use the beach. During the off season, take a weekend off and try diving here. Start early and if the surf is small, you won't have any crowds.

Dive Area 1 (West)
Generally a better dive spot in terms of life and structure. You will find more boulders and structure outside the kelp and toward the west.
Dive Area 2 (East)
Alternative dive area slightly to the east of the stairs. Smaller area, and a little less structure, but slightly closer and different things to see. Good alternative if there are divers or free divers spearfishing to the west of the stairs.
(P) Parking - park along side PCH on the ocean side of the highway and as far out of traffic as possible.

Dive Area Review:
A nice shore dive when the waves aren't too big. Good kelp beds close to shore teeming with life to explore. No facilities here. Relatively easy navigation. Stair case down and up- so you will have to be able physically to beach dive and deal with the stairs with your scuba gear.
