Boat Operations Course

This is your opportunity to gain valuable experience in dive boat operations before you have to perform those duties in the field.  You will be expected to know how to function as an able deckhand as a member of the dive industry. Especially if you plan on working in a resort environment.With this in mind, Malibu Divers has designed this course to give you a jump on the competition. 

 

The Course covers:

• Rules of the Road

• Navigation and Navigation Systems

• Deck Safety

• Related Code of Federal Regulations Sections

• Marlin Spike and Knots

• Fire Safety

• Boat Operation Techniques

• Trouble Shooting and Maintenance

• Docking, Anchoring and Mooring

• Filling and Compressor Orientation

• Guest Services and Diving Operations

• Two Days on an Actual Working Dive Vessel

 

This course is essential to every dive professional that wishes to work in the dive industry connected to an operation that has a dive boat. As a diving professional, you will be expected to be able to step in and function as crew on the boat. Why not have the confidence to do that right off the bat? You will have a real advantage over other dive professionals when you are comfortable working with and on dive boats.   The course is six days.

 

Resort Operations Course

The Resort Operations Course is your opportunity to gain valuable experience in dive resort operations before you have to perform those duties in the field.   If you plan to work at or open your own resort, this course is for you. The competitive environment in the dive industry rewards those that can come in and function as a professional from day one. You will be able to demand higher salary and better positions if you have more to offer your employer.  This course covers the very diversified nature of your role in a diving resort environment.
