Join the Reef Check Malibu Diver Team and become a citizen scientist diver!

Course prerequisites:
  • Proof of dive certification
  • Minimum of 30 logged lifetime dives
  • Minimum of 15 logged dives in California or other temperate region with water temp below 68° F
  • Minimum of 6 dives within the last year
  • Minimum age of 16 on the first day of class
  • Completion of liability release
  • Completed reading of Reef Check California training manual
  • Participants must provide all their own dive gear including weights and tanks. All training and research materials
Malibu Divers Class Schedule: ONLY ONCE PER YEAR!
  • June 4, Saturday - 8:15 am - 9:30 am (optional) - FREE Aquarium of the Pacific (AOP) Guided Tour, then head to the Scuba Show 10 am!
  • June 7, Tues. & 8, Wed., ~ 6;30 pm - 9:30 pm - Classroom at Malibu Divers
  • June 12, Sunday - 10 am - 7 pm - Pool session, final class at Pali High and Malibu Divers
  • June 25-26 - Magician 2-Day (Overnight) Dive Boat to Catalina - 6 checkout dives
